Untitled Art Citra Haze is an enjoyable beer, but the name sets up expectations it doesn’t quite meet. It’s light, crisp, and refreshing, but if you’re expecting a full-bodied hazy IPA, you might be left scratching your head.

Can Art

Modern and artsy in a way that wouldn’t look out of place in the Pompidou Museum. If there’s ever a postmodern beer can exhibit, this one deserves a spot.

Look

Wait… this is a hazy? But it’s…not hazy. Pale straw in color, nearly transparent, with a head that disappears quickly and moderate lacing. Not a bad-looking beer, but not what you’d expect from the name.

Smell

Not much happening here. A faint lemony citrus note, but overall pretty mild.

Mouthfeel

Light, lively, and refreshing with well-balanced carbonation. Drinks more like a session IPA than a hazy.

Taste

Does my tongue have smell buds? Because when I take a sip, it feels like I’m smelling the slightly fruity, lemony hops before the beer even hits. It’s an interesting effect and makes for a pleasant drinking experience.

Final Verdict

Honestly, If this were called Citra Session IPA, I’d be all in. But the pale color and complete lack of haze overshadow what is otherwise a solid, drinkable beer, dragging the whole experience down a notch.
