If you’ve been on the hunt for a nonalcoholic IPA that truly delivers, Best Day Brewing’s West Coast IPA might catch your interest, though it has its quirks.

Packaging

Packaging is super dull. Seriously, if the name matched the can, it would just say “beer.”

Look

Now, when you pour it, this NA IPA surprises with a clear brown, almost copper hue, reminiscent of a traditional West Coast style. The thick head that forms has good retention, which is always a good sign.

Smell

On the nose, you’re hit with a robust malt presence, but the hop aroma is disappointingly subdued.

Mouthfeel

In terms of mouthfeel, it’s pleasantly creamy with medium carbonation, leaving a nice coating on your tongue.

Taste

But here’s where the West Coast IPA shines—it nails that bracing, slap-you-in-the-face hop character we crave. The finish is extremely bitter, and it skillfully sidesteps the off flavors that often plague NA IPAs.

Final Verdict

While this brew shows solid craftsmanship and attention to detail, others in the IPA realm might steal your heart away. It’s worth a try, but I wouldn’t call it a go-to.
