Clausthaler’s dry-hopped IPA has a few redeeming qualities, but overall, it’s one to skip if you have other options.

Packaging

It comes in a bottle, which can can be nice, but not here. The design practically screams “I’m nonalcoholic” and gives off serious “you’d be better off licking sandpaper” energy.

Look

Easily the best part of this beer. It pours a nice golden IPA hue with a faint haze from being unfiltered. The head sticks around for a while, and the lacing is decent.

Smell

Uh oh. This smells like a frat house the morning after a party or the beer tents after Oktoberfest cleanup duty. Not exactly promising

Mouthfeel

Perfectly fine. The carbonation is well-balanced, and it has the right body for an IPA. Nothing to complain about, but I’m not high fiving the brewmaster either.

Taste

Unfortunately, the aroma was a warning sign. This is…not good. The dominant flavor is tea, with hops showing up alongside with a raw, wort-like taste that isn’t overpowering but is definitely unpleasant.

Final Verdict

Not the worst NA beer I’ve ever had. And honestly, that’s the best thing I can say about it.
